White River Marine Group, the largest boat manufacturer in the world by volume, is expanding.

“The City of Bolivar considers it an honor to welcome White River Marine Group back to the City of Bolivar,” Bolivar Mayor Chris Warwick said in the release. “We look forward to developing a long and rewarding relationship with our newest corporate neighbor.”

The company, a Johnny Morris venture, announced in a release Tuesday that it is reopening its Bolivar facility and will create more than 130 jobs.

Boat production is set to begin in mid-April, and workers at the facility will be involved in welding,  upholstery for Sun Tracker pontoons, as well as work on other White River Marine Brands.

The plant has been dark since shutting down in 2009, when it was used for aluminum boat manufacturing. The initiative is part of a focus on American manufacturing.

The company, founded in 1978 by Morris, has a strong Ozarks presence—the Bolivar location joins White River outposts in Clinton; Lebanon; Ozark; Flippin, Arkansas; Midway, Arkansas; and Miami, Oklahoma.
