More than 100 lectures, vendors and hands-on workshops focused on organic and sustainable production make up this year's Missouri Organic Association (MOA) Conference. Registration is now open for the conference, which runs February 4-6 at University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield.

This year's keynote speakers are Dr. Arden Anderson, presenting on the correlation between healthy soils and healthy bodies, and Dr. John Ikerd, teaching about healthy soils, healthy economics and healthy communities.

The three-day event also includes a Top Chef cooking competition featuring chefs from Springfield and larger cities in the state; a Country Hoedown with a pie auction, cake walk and photo booth; and a special opportunity for organic producers to network with representatives from regional and national food stores and distributors.

All are welcome to attend, especially those interested in independent food sources, rising health issues in children, environmental issues, sustainable family farms and biological and organic growing practices.

Registration is $175 for three days or $75 for a single-day pass. An early-bird discount is available through January 15. To view the conference agenda and buy tickets, visit moaconference.org.
