Steve Belden is the operating partner at AMP Recreation LLC, the company behind Daily Blend Coffee Shop, Sunshine Event Center, a rooftop bar and patio and the recently-opened Scratch and Co. restaurant inside Plaza Towers.
He sees the project as a way to reimagine a central piece of Springfield, on the busy corner of Glenstone and Sunshine. "What I saw was potential to utilize space currently in this building," he says, pointing to its location, parking and untapped opportunity for hospitality growth. "This is a perfect fit on this corner."
As a lead investor, Trent Overhue has seen how Belden shows up day to day. "His character, work ethic and consistently uplifting attitude are truly second to none," Overhue says. "Steve brings a level of pride and energy to the project that elevates everyone around him, and we're excited to create something genuinely special for the Springfield community."
For Belden, the vision is a connected, all-day experience under one roof, with morning coffee, daytime lunch, rooftop evenings and dinner service all flowing together in a single space. "I like seeing people have that right in their building where they don't even have to leave the property," he says. "It's just a convenience factor for them."
That hospitality mindset also shapes how he defines success, with guest experience at the center, alongside consistent food quality. He also prioritizes a strong, stable team culture. "Seeing people leave with smiles on their faces is near and dear to me," he says. "Creating and developing and executing a great culture is probably at the top of my list for a success point."
