Ryan Mooney is currently the Senior Vice President, Economic Development at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and he’s been with the organization for 21 years. Before beginning his career, he earned a degree in geology. Over time, Mooney began collecting both rocks from his travels to Maine and Oregon and historical items from around Springfield, each holding a special meaning.

It was a pretty hot foul ball that my brother barehanded to stop it from hitting a few ladies behind us. The other ball is a commemorative baseball from the opening celebration for Hammons Field in 2004.”

“Things like a commemorative baseball from Hammons Field, hockey puck from the opening of the Ice Park, a highway reflector for the first diverging diamond, a concrete core from the 60/65 Interchange are very special!”
