About This Event
Missouri's maternal mortality rate is among the highest in the country. The country's rate is the highest in the developed world. This is unacceptable. This screening event opens with Fusion TV Network’s documentary ‘Death by Delivery,’ which discusses why and how maternal mortality rates are so high in the U.S. This documentary especially works to highlight racial health disparities that place black women at four times the risk of white women to die from pregnancy-related issues, regardless of wealth and education. A panel of healthcare experts from Missouri will subsequently discuss the various ways maternal and infant mortality impact our communities and how we can address it.
