Sailing with Erik K. Peterson

Eric K. Peterson, President of Peterson Wealth Advisors, first started sailing in 1979 while living in South Dakota. After moving to Springfield he continued to sail at Stockton Lake and Fellows Lake. “I spent a lot of time in the outdoors, and sailing seemed to be the perfect fit for me in terms of being outdoors, seeing the interaction between the wind, the water and the sails,” he says. After a nearly 15-year hiatus, Peterson returned to sailing to help re-establish a sailing program at Fellows Lake. At the initial meeting, Peterson was reunited with many of his friends “We were jumping up and down going, ‘We can get some sailboats, and we can teach people how to sail, and maybe we can get a sailing club going here,” he says.
