How Habitat for Humanity's Kristin McDaniel Achieved a Dream with AR Workshop

When Habitat for Humanity Development Director Kristin McDaniel opened AR Workshop in Springfield eight and a half years ago, she learned the value of carpe diem—and good timing.

She learned about AR Workshop from a friend who lived in Charlotte, North Carolina. She saw the DIY art studio as “all the things that I enjoy doing wrapped into one” and emailed the company to ask about setting up a workshop in Missouri. And the growing company called back. After the call, she sprung the news about her dream on her husband, and within six weeks she had purchased the franchise and was headed out to Charlotte for training.

McDaniel manages her work with Habitat and the workshop by having two strong teams behind her. Oh, and “very little sleep.”
