Meet Michael Evans, 417's New Sales Director
Originally from Illinois, Evans comes to 417 with more than 33 years in the publishing world.
Gary Whitaker, publisher of 417, is excited to announce that Michael Evans has joined the team as the new sales director. Evans comes to 417 with more than 33 years in the publishing world. In this new role Evans oversees the strategic growth of all 417 products, develops new business opportunities and leads the sales team as a member of the 417 leadership team.
Evans began his career at VARIETY, where he spent 10 years overseeing sales efforts in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York. He was associate publisher of Publishers Weekly before moving into the city and regional magazine sector as associate publisher of Palm Springs Life and San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles magazines.
Originally from Illinois, Evans says: “I am excited to move back to the Midwest and help with the growth of a dynamic brand. I’ve always admired the Whitakers and what they have accomplished here with 417 and am excited to help them achieve their future growth goals.”
Ammie Scott, current vice president of sales, transitions to a new role as Vice President of Strategy and Senior Account Executive. In this position, Scott continues to focus on key accounts in addition to providing strategy and direction for the company as a member of the executive leadership team. Scott has been with 417 since 2010.
